Learn at the State Library
To support lifelong learning and development, the State Library offers free programs, presentations and training. Through different methods of delivery including in-person, online and on-demand, the State Library offers all its users the opportunity to explore a wide range of topics and to interact with others also interested in learning.
Author Talks
Throughout the year author talks are scheduled during the 12 – 1 p.m. period and are held in the Level 2 Reading Room. The talks are free and the subjects vary and correspond with one of the State Library’s collections. To date talks have covered topics including, law, New Jersey history, New Jersey authors, immigrant experiences and the environment. Author talks are generally held once a month. Please check the program listing and register if you would like to attend.
Book Café
The second Wednesday of each month during the 12 –1 p.m. hour is set aside for the Book Café. Individuals meet in the Level 2 Reading Room of the library to discuss books they have read and enjoyed. Each month the book discussion revolves around a different topic, such as friendship, summer, and patriotism. Join us for a lively discussion. Please check the program listing and register if you would like to attend.
