The New Jersey League of Women Voters convened a nonpartisan, off-the-record gathering of policymakers from across the state in 1992 to discuss the potential impact on New Jersey of health care reform changes proposed at the national level. In 1993, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation provided funding to the League of Women Voters of New Jersey Education Fund to sponsor the Capitol Forums on Health & Medical Care, a series of nonpartisan policy forums about health care in New Jersey. The Forums Institute for Public Policy was established in 1997 as a nonprofit organization to administer the New Jersey Policy Forums on Health and Medical Care.
Issue briefs developed for the New Jersey Policy Forums on Health and Medical Care were deposited with the New Jersey State Library when the Forums Institute for Public Policy closed its doors in 2009. The New Jersey League of Women Voters transferred the copyright for earlier issue briefs to us as well. The entire collection of issue briefs are available online in PDF format.
